Photonis announced a new segmented monolithic reflectron lens which replaces traditional stacked ring reflectron lenses in time-of-flight mass spectrometers and simplifies the cleaning and assembly process. The reflectron lenses made with Photonis’ resistive glass replace a stacked ring assembly with a solid assembly yet provide the same ability to alter ion flow. They can also be used to produce non-linear and dynamic fields within the lens, which can augment instrument performance.
